Environmental

Education

Environmental education connects the students to the world around them, and teaches them about both the natural and built environments.

Environmental Education raises awareness of issues impacting the environment upon which we all depend, as well as empowering students to take action to help improve and sustain it now and in the future.

We want students to develop a love for the natural world, so that they become stewards of the environment. Through Environmental Education students become imprinted with the animals, plants, and land. We want them to remember their experiences and LOVE being in nature, so that they may carry on the knowledge they have learned to future generations.

"In order to become problem solvers, you have to make mistakes. It's OK to make mistakes!!"

Mrs. Hansen

Get Involved

5th Grade is an important year for students to develop independence, autonomy, and self confidence. This is a natural step in Child Development beginning at the age of 10.

We will need volunteers specifically for field trips, class parties, and someone to make copies.

Thanks!!

   Healthy Reminder

Please make sure your student gets good rest by going to bed early, adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables, and lots of water. We need to drink at least 1/2 our body weight in water. You can calculate the amount of water you need to drink by dividing your body weight by 2. The number you get will be how many ounces you need to drink in a day. How many ounces in 1 cup of Water? 8 ounces
