Why do we study the Steelhead?

Allowing students to connect to the environment through envrionmental education and life science, such as the Steelhead, has been a blessing. Not only do they get to connect to nature and the natural environment, they get to watch the Steelhead hatch from eggs right in from of their very eyes, observe their growth from alevin to fry, and then release them at Fife Creek Armstrong Woods! This has changed the students, by connecting and imprinting them to the natural environment. Through this program they become Stewards of the Earth and all living things that dwell within, around, and on.
